Quartermaster will keep watching the markets after you log off and ping your phone (via your own Discord or Telegram) when a route beats the profit threshold you set. At most one message an hour, and only when something new shows up.
FAQ
Does Quartermaster modify Elite Dangerous or touch my account?
No. It only reads the journal files Elite Dangerous already writes to your PC, the same files tools like ED Market Connector read. It never touches the game process, your Frontier account or your save data.
Where does the market data come from?
From EDDN, the community's live market data network, plus the free Ardent Insight API to instantly seed prices around your current system.
Is it an Inara alternative?
For finding trades, mining spots and conflicts near you, it's faster: no searching and no re-entering your location after every run. Quartermaster combines live public market data with your own in-game info (location, ship, cargo, landing pad) and surfaces the highest-paying opportunities automatically as you fly.
Do I need an API key?
Only for the optional AI chat. Trade routes, mining and conflict zones work without any key. The chat is bring-your-own-key: OpenAI, Claude, or a local model.
What does it cost?
One-time purchase, pay what you want from $4. No subscription.
How accurate is the profit per hour?
It's an estimate. It assumes a flat travel speed and fixed docking time per stop, since Quartermaster doesn't know your ship's exact jump range. Use it to rank routes, not as a promise.
Where is my AI API key stored?
Locally on your PC. It's only ever sent to the AI provider you choose.
Does it work on console or Mac?
No, it needs the PC version of Elite Dangerous running on Windows, since it reads the game's local journal files.
